BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- barbeque, a banjo, and lots of people made for Brunswick County's Democratic Rally Sunday.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 16457 Old Frederick Road, Mt. Airy, will host a holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Featured will be baked goods, gourmet to go, jellies, candies, dried flowers, gift baskets, 2007 Entertainment books and more. There will be a raffle and a silent auction.
Once a source of complaint, the annual Love Ride motorcycle charity event has transformed into a quite a happening for the Castaic community. Many local organizations volunteer at the event - the most prominent source of motorcycle fundraising worldwide.

VIDALIA ? There was something for almost everyone at Vidalia?s Jim Bowie Festival at the Riverview RV Park Saturday. Toys for Bands played, the sheriff?s office held a fishing tournament, children played in jump toys and the best cooked off in a barbecue duel.
CENTRAL TOLEDO -- Police have already made an arrest in a triple shooting from overnight. It happened around 1:30am in the 1000th block of Hawley, near Indiana, in central Toledo.
The Ithaca Elk's Lodge #636 will be holding a chicken barbecue on Saturday, Oct. 28, at their new location, 124 Codington Road. The price is $8 per dinner and includes potato salad baked beans and a Dinner Roll. The first round of dinners will be ready around 11:30 a.m. with the second to be ready around 3:30 p.m.
